Your completed application is submitted to the Vanuatu Citizenship Commission (VCC) through UNO Capital. Direct applications are not accepted; all submissions must go through a licensed agent.

Due Diligence & Background Check
The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) conducts a thorough background and source of funds check on all applicants. This stage typically takes 10–14 business days. A pre-approval letter is issued once due diligence is cleared.

Investment Payment
Following pre-approval, the DSP contribution is transferred to the government fund. Payment is only made after the pre-approval is confirmed, not before.

Biometric Submission
From July 2025, biometrics are mandatory for all applicants. Fingerprints and a photograph must be submitted at an approved center in Vanuatu, Dubai, Hong Kong, or Nouméa. In some cases, a consul can travel to your country of residence to collect biometric data.

Citizenship Certificate & Oath
Upon final approval, a Citizenship Certificate is issued. A remote oath of allegiance is taken typically via video call. No travel to Vanuatu is required.

Can I enter the EU or UK without a visa if I have a Vanuatu passport?
No, you cannot. Vanuatu passport holders do not have visa-free access to the Schengen Area or the United Kingdom anymore. A Vanuatu passport still helps you travel to many places in Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
Can I apply for Vanuatu citizenship without visiting Vanuatu?
Most of the process can be completed remotely through an authorized agent. However, biometric submission is mandatory. Applicants must provide fingerprints and a photograph at an approved center in Vanuatu, Dubai, Hong Kong, or Nouméa. In certain cases, biometric collection may also be arranged in the applicant’s country of residence.
Can I add my parents to my Vanuatu citizenship by investment application?
Yes, you can add them. If your parents are financially dependent and are 50 years old or more, they can be included in your application. You can also add family members later. You need to get approval from the government and pay extra fees for that.
